Cleaning Up Your Spring Cleaning Process

There are few traditions of spring more satisfying than the annual clean. For many of us, however, the pleasure of spring cleaning comes only after the work is finished. This cleaning overhaul may never become effortless, but we can make the project more manageable – and even enjoyable.

Here are a few things to keep in mind as you start your spring cleaning:

  • Create a realistic schedule. Keep in mind that a single weekend won't cut it. You'll need several days for more involved projects, such as shampooing carpets, organizing closets, going through the garage, kitchen drawers, dressers, etc.
  • Focus on one task at a time. Whether you prefer to GO from the attic to the basement or start outdoors and work your way inside, stay focused. You will accomplish more work with better efficiency when you do this. (It never hurts to enlist the help of family members!)
  • Create clean habits. There are a few things that you can do each day that will help your home stay clean year-round. Quick, easy tasks such as making the bed, cleaning up while you cook, and managing clutter will make your heavy cleaning days easier.

When we use these tips, we’re sure to accomplish more, and even enjoy our spring cleaning.

When we knock out these necessary tasks, we can get on to greeting the brighter side of spring.
